HP Launches OmniBook 5 Series AI PCs Powered by Snapdragon X Series

HP has unveiled its latest innovation, the OmniBook 5 series of artificial intelligence (AI) PCs, at Computex 2025. These cutting-edge devices are powered by Snapdragon X and Snapdragon X Plus processors, featuring a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) that boasts an impressive computational capability of up to 45 tera operations per second (TOPS). Available in both 14-inch and 16-inch OLED screen sizes, the OmniBook 5 series supports high-resolution displays and includes advanced features such as a 1080p infrared camera and HP Fast Charge technology.

Pricing and Availability of the HP OmniBook 5 Series

The HP OmniBook 5 series consists of two models: the 14-inch OmniBook 5 14 and the 16-inch OmniBook 5 16. The base model of the OmniBook 5 14 starts at $799 (approximately Rs. 68,000), while the OmniBook 5 16 is priced from $849 (around Rs. 72,500). Both models are set to be available for purchase starting in July through HP’s official website, Best Buy, and Costco. However, early adopters can find the OmniBook 5 14 model on Amazon and Micro Center as early as June. The series is introduced in a sleek Glacier Silver color.

Specifications of the HP OmniBook 5 Series

The HP OmniBook 5 series features two display options, with both models equipped with 2K (1,920 x 1,200) OLED screens that deliver a peak brightness of 300 nits and 95 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. These AI PCs are designed to minimize blue-light emissions, earning TUV+Eyesafe Display certification, and boast an impressive 0.02ms response time.

Customers can choose configurations with up to eight-core Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 CPUs, reaching a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz, alongside a Qualcomm Adreno GPU. The laptops can be equipped with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. The Snapdragon processor is complemented by a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, which is capable of delivering up to 45 TOPS of computational performance. Additionally, the laptops come with Trusted Platform Module (Firmware TPM) support for enhanced security.

The OmniBook 5 models are branded as AI PCs, featuring Copilot+ capabilities and a dedicated Copilot+ key. They include AI-driven functionalities such as Recall and Click-to-Do, which are currently in preview. HP has also enhanced features like Windows Search and Cocreator in Paint. A built-in HP AI Companion provides on-device AI tools for tasks such as document analysis and performance optimization.

Connectivity and Features of the HP OmniBook 5 Series

Both the 14-inch and 16-inch models of the HP OmniBook 5 series come equipped with a 1080p full HD infrared camera that supports Windows Hello and includes a privacy shutter. Connectivity options are robust, featuring Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E, powered by a Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 modem. The laptops also offer a variety of I/O ports, including two USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4a support, one USB Type-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo jack.

The HP OmniBook 5 series is capable of supporting a single 5K external display or dual 4K external displays. Audio quality is enhanced with the HP Audio Boost 2.0 feature, which utilizes dual speakers and two amplifiers to provide clear sound while automatically suppressing background noise during video calls. Both models are powered by a 59Wh triple-cell Lithium-ion polymer battery, with HP claiming they can charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes using the included 65W power adapter.
