HDFC Bank Customers Alert: Net Banking and UPI Services Unavailable for Several Hours

HDFC Bank has announced a scheduled maintenance period on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 12:30 AM to 7:30 AM IST. This maintenance is aimed at enhancing system performance and improving the overall reliability of banking services. During this time, customers will experience disruptions in various banking services, and the bank has advised users to utilize alternative payment methods to ensure uninterrupted transactions.
Impact on NetBanking and MobileBanking Services
During the maintenance window, all NetBanking and MobileBanking services will be unavailable. Customers will not have access to essential features such as checking account balances, viewing statements, or making fund transfers through IMPS, NEFT, or RTGS. Additionally, users will be unable to update their profiles or settings. This downtime is expected to last for the entire seven-hour maintenance period, which may cause inconvenience for customers who rely heavily on digital banking services for their daily transactions.
UPI and ATM Services Limitations
HDFC Bank account holders will also face restrictions on UPI services during the maintenance period. Users will be unable to send or receive money, make merchant payments, check balances, or set or change their UPI PINs. However, ATM and debit card services will remain partially operational. Customers can withdraw cash and conduct transactions, but with limited withdrawal amounts: up to INR 20,000 for Platinum and Millennia Debit Cards, and up to INR 10,000 for other types of debit cards. Non-financial services such as balance inquiries and PIN changes will still be accessible.
Credit and Forex Card Services
Credit card services will continue to operate normally during the maintenance, allowing customers to make online and PoS transactions, check balances, and change PINs. However, RuPay UPI payments through Mobikwik and Shriram Pay will not be available. For forex cards, loading via HDFC debit cards will be permitted, but loading through NetBanking will be disabled. International payments and ATM withdrawals will still be available, subject to the card’s restrictions. Customers are encouraged to plan their transactions accordingly to avoid disruptions.
Alternative Payment Options
To mitigate the impact of the maintenance, HDFC Bank recommends that customers use the PayZapp Wallet for uninterrupted payments. Users can pre-load their wallets to continue making payments, scanning QR codes, or transferring funds even while other banking services are down. This proactive approach aims to ensure that customers can maintain their financial activities without significant interruptions during the scheduled maintenance period.
