Scene 1: Tea, Traditions, and Tensions
The episode kicks off at the hospital, where senior doctor Surva shares with Neil and his family that they must attend a party being planned in celebration. Just then, Leena arrives and curiously asks, “What party?” Amruta quickly fills her in—it’s a hospital event being held to honor both Neil and Teju. Leena lightens the mood with a little joke. She teases Surva, asking if he’s now drinking someone else’s tea since he used to prefer hers. Surva chuckles, replying that Teju is just as capable as Leena. He adds, “Now you can relax,” but notices something off and asks why she seems upset.
Leena answers bluntly, “Neil has taken away my happiness. Making tea doesn’t make someone a good daughter-in-law.” Teju speaks up, calmly saying, “A good daughter-in-law also needs a good family.” This stirs things up. Leena tells Surva she’s still unhappy with Neil’s marriage and won’t be attending any party. Vinod tries to change her mind, but she stands firm. Teju, clearly affected, says she won’t go either if Leena isn’t coming. But Leena stands her ground, replying, “That’s your choice. My decision stays the same,” and walks off. Vinod, concerned, turns to Surva and says he’ll try again later. Surva nods, confident that Teju will win Leena’s heart, just as she did Neil’s. With that, he leaves, saying they’ll be waiting at the party.
Scene 2: A Room Shared, A Truth Revealed
Later, Neil stands at the doorway and asks Teju if he can enter. She replies, “It’s your room—why are you asking?” Neil says he felt he should, now that they’re sharing the space. “How could I walk in without asking?” he says. Teju, still hurt, snaps back, “Just like how you married me without asking.” Neil lowers his gaze and admits he regrets the way things happened. “If I knew someone else was still in your life, I might not have married you,” he adds. Teju looks puzzled. “What do you mean?” she asks. Neil brushes off the question and shifts the topic to the party. “I didn’t think you’d go,” he says. Teju replies, “If you want to thank me, do it. They invited me with love.” Neil pauses. “So you only have a problem with me?” Teju responds sharply, “Who are you to decide for me?”
As the night settles in, Neil starts preparing an inflatable bed. Teju asks, “Why bother?” Neil explains the sofa hurts his back and he can’t sleep there. Teju cuts him off, “Stop acting like a perfect husband. I’ll sleep on that thing.” But as she pumps air into it, the bed suddenly bursts. “Did you buy a cheap one?” she asks. Neil defends himself, saying it was expensive and he even has the bill. Teju sighs and says she’ll take the sofa, but Neil insists she sleep on the bed. “You’re the guest,” he says. Teju suggests a simple fix: “The bed’s big. Let’s put pillows in the middle and share it.” She tells Neil to sleep on the left side. Neil protests, but she insists, “I want to sleep like a princess.” Neil responds, “You are a princess to me.” Teju rolls her eyes and tells him to sleep. Lights go off. Neil looks at Teju as she sleeps, then finally closes his eyes too.
Scene 3: Gifts, Guitars, and Growing Gaps
The next morning, Prachi calls out to Amai and Nandini, asking why they’re not ready. They say they’re still getting dressed. Meanwhile, Teju sees Neil on his laptop and asks if he’s coming to the party. Neil, thinking of Rithu Raj, says, “He and the others will be with you.” Teju replies, “If you come, no one will blame me.” That gets through to Neil, and he agrees. As they prepare, Prachi walks in and asks if the special couple is ready. She calls Jeetu over, who presents Teju with a beautiful Tanishq Kundan necklace. Neil helps her put it on. Just then, Yash arrives and compliments Teju, teasing Neil that he doesn’t look as good. The group leaves with Teju, asking Neil to hurry up.
In the hall, Rithu Raj makes an entrance with his guitar, singing “Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jaana Sanam.” Neil watches from the side, quietly noticing how Rithu and Teju seem to fit perfectly together. A thought crosses his mind—he shouldn’t have married Teju. He decides to step away and give them space. Rithu compliments Neil’s outfit, but Neil tells Bhushan he won’t attend. “I have a lecture at another college,” he says. The family doesn’t believe him. Rithu says he’ll take Teju instead. Vinod steps in, saying it wouldn’t look right if she went alone, and asks her to convince Neil. Teju says no. Jeetu says, “Rithu cancelled his show—why can’t you cancel your lecture?” Nandini asks Rithu if he really had a concert. Rithu admits he needed rest too.
Scene 4: A Daughter-in-Law’s Stand
Back at home, Leena gets ready to leave for the temple. Vinod asks if she’s really not attending the party. She says firmly, “I already made my decision. Teju’s actions don’t change anything.” Teju, now dressed and ready, quietly says, “I won’t go without you. Neil’s not coming, and I have no right over him. But I do have a right over you. I call you Aayi because I believe you are my mother-in-law.” Leena listens but remains unmoved. “Your words can’t change my decision,” she says. Teju stays quiet, her stance clear.
