Scene 1: A Family Ritual Filled with Hurt Feelings
The day starts with the Pradhan family preparing for Neil and Teju’s after-wedding rituals. Teju quietly walks downstairs, and Amruta greets her warmly, saying, “Teju, you look really pretty today!” Seeing Teju looking worried, Amruta gently comforts her, “Don’t worry about yesterday’s problem during the Gruhpravesh ceremony. Let’s forget it.” Prachi agrees, telling Teju kindly, “Exactly, Teju. Leave the past behind. Today, we are here for something special, right?” Just then, Rituraj steps forward, frowning. He interrupts them sharply, saying, “Not everyone is here, you know. Leena has locked herself in her room because of Teju.” His voice is filled with bitterness as he turns away, leaving everyone feeling uncomfortable.
Soon, Neil and Teju are about to start their rituals when Leena suddenly speaks up angrily, “First, Neil gets married without his mother, and now these rituals without me too!” Neil calmly replies, “Mom, I asked you to come, but you chose to stay in your room.” Leena continues angrily, blaming Neil, “I guess I failed as a mom if you forgot me this quickly.” Nandini softly pleads with Leena to let go of her anger, but Leena refuses. “Neil has ruined his life, and you all expect me to smile?” she says bitterly. Teju bravely speaks up, “Why do you think Neil ruined his life by marrying me? He decided to marry me; I never chose it.” Leena quickly dismisses her words, saying, “Stop your drama, Teju! You agreed to marry him willingly.” Feeling upset by this, Amruta steps in firmly, “Why are you talking like this to Teju? If she’s treated like this, I’ll leave.” Leena rudely brushes her off again. Amruta turns to Bhushan, asking firmly, “Will we do the rituals or not?” Bhushan quickly says, “The marriage is already done. Let’s finish the rituals peacefully now.”
Finally, the family starts the rituals. Everyone applies haldi to Neil and Teju and gently pours water over them. Amruta happily explains the next fun ritual: “Neil will hold a coconut piece in his mouth, and Teju has to eat it without touching it with her hands!” Neil smiles and gently says to Teju, “Only if you are okay with it.” Teju quietly stands still, but Neil’s cousins tease and laugh, taking her silence as a yes. Eventually, Teju shyly takes the coconut from Neil’s mouth.
Scene 2: Bitterness Hidden Behind Smiles
Watching everything, Rituraj feels angry and jealous. Inside, he thinks bitterly, “Teju left me for my doctor brother Neil, just to make me feel small. She made a big mistake.” His heart is filled with resentment towards Teju, and he watches the celebrations unhappily. Later, Amruta cheerfully hands Neil a saree and says, “Neil, you must bless Teju now.” Neil smiles warmly at Teju, promising gently, “Teju, I’ll always support your dreams and goals.” He gives her the saree kindly, showing his care and support openly.
Suddenly, Rituraj interrupts sarcastically, trying to upset Neil. He sneers, “You know, Neil, every girl has a boyfriend before marriage. You might want to know about Teju’s past.” Neil remains calm and replies confidently, “That’s true for boys too. Even boys have girlfriends before marriage. When I marry, I’ll definitely tell my wife about my past.” Feeling cornered, Rituraj responds bitterly, “Fine then, Neil. I’ll share details about your exes, since Teju is everyone’s favorite now.” Jeetu, overhearing this, quickly makes a funny remark teasing Rituraj, making everyone laugh softly. Then Amruta gently instructs Teju, “Now, Teju, touch Neil’s feet to get his blessings.” Teju hesitates nervously, and Leena comments harshly again. Neil gently tells Leena, “Mom, please stop.” With Neil’s encouragement, Teju finally bends to touch his feet. Neil softly blesses her again, repeating, “I’ll always help you achieve your dreams.”
Scene 3: Rituraj’s Unseen Anger Revealed
The rituals end peacefully, and Prachi sweetly tells Neil and Teju, “You two must be tired. Go rest in your room now.” But Rituraj quickly interrupts, reminding everyone rudely, “Neil and Teju can’t stay together until all rituals finish.” Neil calmly accepts this, telling Teju gently, “You take the bedroom; I’ll sleep in the guest room tonight.” With a comforting smile, Neil leaves quietly, showing respect for tradition. After everyone goes, Rituraj confronts Teju, bitterly accusing her, “You rejected me and chose my brother, Neil. But remember, Teju, as long as I’m in music, you’ll never become a singer.” His voice is full of anger and revenge. Rituraj walks away furiously, unaware Neil was listening quietly nearby. Neil now realizes Rituraj was Teju’s boyfriend before marriage. Neil stands still, deeply shocked by what he heard.
