Kiyaan’s Request for a Name Change
Kiyaan showed Rajat some papers and asked him to sign them. Rajat felt emotional and said they hadn’t seen each other in a long time. He missed Kiyaan a lot and was sure Kiyaan missed him too. He saw Kiyaan playing alone and asked if he didn’t have any friends, reminding him how they used to play cricket together. Kiyaan said he wanted to be rich and successful like Arsh and play ‘rich people’ games like golf and horse riding. He asked Rajat if he could give him anything he wanted. Rajat said he could, because his father had money now. Kiyaan asked him to sign the papers.
Rajat’s Painful Realization
Rajat read the papers and was shocked. Kiyaan said he wanted to apply for a passport, but first wanted to change his name from Kiyaan Rajat Thakkar to Kiyaan Arsh Gujral. Rajat said he was Kiyaan’s real father, and Arsh was neither his biological father nor had he married his mother yet. Kiyaan said Rajat was a bad father who couldn’t give him what he wanted then and still couldn’t now. He returned home and asked the maid, Kavita, to make him coffee. Savi said Kavita wasn’t home, his parents had gone to visit Bappa, and Tara was in Canada. She offered to make the coffee instead. He said it was okay and tried to make it himself. She went to help him. Sai called them to come and protect Bappa’s lamp. They both rushed over and protected the lamp, but Rajat burned his hand. Savi told him to be careful and put ice on the burn. Rajat remembered burning his hand in the past and asking Ashika for help, but she told him to help himself because she was busy.
Later, she brought a PlayStation for Kiyaan and said Arsh had given it to him. Rajat confronted her for taking Arsh’s help. Ashika said she wanted the best for her son, which Rajat could never provide. Snapping out of the flashback, Rajat yelled at Savi. Sai got scared and ran to her room. Family Discussion on Guarding Bappa’s Lamp
The Bhosales discussed who would guard Bappa’s lamp at night. Aman walked by and, hearing them, offered to guard the lamp with Mrunmayee. Milind said he would guard it with his sister. Harini said to let Aman do it because Milind had a meeting in the morning, and Isha and Shantanu had to go to college tomorrow. The family hesitantly agreed. Aman and Mrunmayee then spent quality time together, discussing how great Rajat and Savi were as musicians.
Rajat’s Breakdown at the Bar
Rajat went to a bar and got very drunk, remembering Kiyaan’s hurtful words. He asked a waiter to keep him company and advised him to always express his love for his children, or else they would grow distant. He tried to open a beer bottle with his teeth and badly injured his tongue, bleeding a lot. The waiter called Savi from Rajat’s phone and told her about the injury. She rushed to the bar and took him to a dentist, who checked the wound and suggested stitching it after giving anesthesia.
