FromSoftware Teases Unannounced Game in Advanced Development

FromSoftware, renowned for its critically acclaimed titles, has been busy expanding its gaming universe. Following the launch of Elden Ring Nightreign in May, the studio announced its next project, The Duskbloods, during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct livestream in April. Recent reports suggest that the developer is also working on an unannounced multiplatform game, codenamed โ€œFMC,โ€ which is reportedly in the advanced stages of development and could be released as early as next year.

FromSoftware Working on Unannounced Game

According to a recent report from MP1st, FromSoftware is deep into the development of a new game, referred to as โ€œFMC.โ€ This title is said to be a multiplatform project that is currently in the advanced stages of production. Sources indicate that the game is progressing well enough that it could potentially launch in 2026, barring any delays. This timeline suggests that FromSoftware may have two significant releases next year, including The Duskbloods, which is set to be an exclusive action-RPG for the Nintendo Switch 2.

In addition to these upcoming titles, FromSoftware is also focusing on enhancing Elden Ring Nightreign, the multiplayer co-op survival game that debuted on May 30. The studio has confirmed that Nightreign will receive downloadable content (DLC) later this year, introducing new features such as a Duos mode, improved boss encounters, and additional player characters. The Duskbloods, revealed earlier this year, will feature online multiplayer gameplay, allowing up to eight players to engage in battles against each other and AI-controlled enemies.

FromSoftware Projects

Since the release of Elden Ring in 2022, FromSoftware has been actively developing new titles. The studio launched Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon in 2023 and is preparing a major story expansion for Elden Ring, titled Shadow of the Erdtree, which is expected to arrive in 2024. The recent release of Elden Ring Nightreign adds to the studio’s portfolio, while The Duskbloods is confirmed for a 2026 launch.

In December 2024, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the studio president and director of Elden Ring, stated that there were no immediate plans for a sequel to Elden Ring. However, he confirmed that multiple projects are currently in the works at FromSoftware. โ€œI can’t talk about any unpublished work, but I do have several projects currently underway at FromSoftware,โ€ he mentioned during the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia event. He also hinted at the variety of genres being explored, encouraging fans to look forward to future announcements.

Future of FromSoftware

As FromSoftware continues to develop its upcoming titles, the gaming community eagerly anticipates what the studio will unveil next. With a strong reputation for creating immersive worlds and engaging gameplay, the potential release of the unannounced game โ€œFMCโ€ could further solidify the studio’s position in the industry. While the focus on multiplayer experiences appears to be a trend, Miyazaki’s assurance that single-player titles remain a priority suggests a balanced approach to game development. Fans can expect a diverse range of experiences from FromSoftware in the coming years, keeping the excitement alive in the gaming landscape.
