In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the children of the film’s late producer, Vinay Sinha, shared insights about the re-release and reminisced about the film’s original launch. Revisiting the Original Release

Priti Sinha, one of Vinay Sinha’s children, recounted the challenges faced during the film’s initial release. Many of the lead actors, including Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, were busy with other projects, making it difficult for them to attend promotional events. Priti noted, “Most of the actors were out of town when the film was released. They were shooting. Aamir bhai and Salman sir were quite busy.” This hectic schedule meant that the premiere, held at Metro Cinema, saw only a handful of attendees, with Meenakshi Seshadri being one of the few stars present. Despite the absence of the cast, the premiere was well-attended by family and friends of the producer, showcasing the film’s significance.

Amod Sinha added a humorous touch to the recollection, stating that even director Rajkumar Santoshi was unavailable during the premiere. The film will be distributed by Cinepolis and is set to screen in approximately 530 theaters initially. Amod Sinha explained the strategy behind this decision, stating, “I think it’s better to start with this number and then increase the screen count as and when the need arises.” This approach allows for a measured rollout, ensuring that the film reaches its audience effectively.
