Excitement Builds as BOIOA Kicks Off Cricket Tournament 2025 in Mumbai

Chandigarh, December 29, 2025: The Bank of India Officers’ Association (BOIOA) Mumbai & Goa Unit has officially commenced its much-anticipated Cricket Tournament 2025, a two-day sporting event aimed at fostering teamwork among its members. The tournament, taking place on December 27 and 28, was inaugurated at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana, located at the picturesque Marine Drive, creating an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie.

Inauguration Ceremony Sets the Stage

The inauguration ceremony was a star-studded affair, highlighted by speeches from prominent figures in the banking and sports community. The event was officiated by Shri Rajneesh Karnatak, the Managing Director and CEO of Bank of India. Accompanying him were distinguished guests, including Executive Director Shri Subrat Kumar, Chief General Managers, and other officials from the organization, alongside Dr. Unmesh Khanvilkar, Secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association, who lent his support to the occasion.

Celebrating Sportsmanship and Team Spirit

Shri Nilesh Pawar, the General Secretary and chief organizer of the tournament, received accolades from attendees for his dedication to improving officer welfare through sports. In his address, Karnatak commended Pawar and his team for their efforts in promoting a vibrant sporting culture within the bank. Dr. Khanvilkar emphasized the importance of such events, expressing hope that Bank of India would continue to champion sports and recruit skilled athletes to enhance the cricketing tradition within the institution.

Participation and Enthusiasm from BOI Officers

This year’s tournament has seen enthusiastic participation from over 400 officers, including 30 female players, all representing the BOIOA Mumbai & Goa Unit. The organization of the event has drawn praise for its professionalism, with a spirited environment engaging all participants and encouraging healthy competition.

The success of the tournament is a testament to the exemplary leadership of President Shri Anton Saldanha and the Executive Committee. Their diligent efforts have not only facilitated a smoothly run event but also created lasting memories for participants, further solidifying the unity among officers of the Bank of India.
