DSSSB Opens 1979 Group B & C Vacancies: Apply by July 15, 2026

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has announced a major recruitment drive. The board is hiring 1979 candidates for Group B and Group C positions across multiple government departments in Delhi. Other departments have smaller vacancy counts. IT Department offers 125 IT Assistant Grade A positions. NDMC is recruiting 36 Fitter Grade II, 19 Electrical Overseer/Sub-Inspector, 15 Assistant Operator Cum Mechanic (A/C), 13 Lift Operator, and 37 Sub Station Apprentice posts. Delhi Archives has 4 Assistant Archivist Grade I and 1 Technical Assistant (Hindi) position. Labour Department offers 21 Data Processing Assistant Grade A vacancies.

Salary is determined by the 7th Pay Commission. Junior Scientific Assistant posts fall under Level 6, offering Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400. Teaching positions are at Level 7, ranging from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400. IT Assistant Grade A and similar technical roles are at Level 4, paying Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100. Lift Operator and Sub Station Apprentice positions are at Level 2, with salaries between Rs 19,900 and Rs 63,200. Electrical Overseer/Sub-Inspector roles are at Level 5, offering Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300.

Eligibility Criteria for DSSSB Recruitment 2026

All candidates must be Indian citizens. Educational qualifications vary by post and are strictly enforced. Junior Scientific Assistant positions in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Ballistics, Documents, Crime Scene, and Finger Print require a Master’s Degree in the respective science field from a recognised university.

Junior Scientific Assistant (Cyber Forensic) requires M.Sc, MCA, or B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or Cyber Security. Junior Scientific Assistant (Lie Detection) needs a Master’s Degree in Psychology or Criminology. Junior Scientific Assistant (Photo) requires a Master’s Degree in Physics, Computer Science, AI, IT, or Data Analytics.

Technical Assistant (Hindi) requires a Master’s Degree with a Diploma or experience in translation. Assistant Archivist Grade I needs a Master’s Degree in History with a Diploma in Archives. IT Assistant Grade A requires 12th pass with typing ability or aptitude test qualification.

Teaching positions demand a degree as per DSSSB regulations. Special Educator Primary requires 12th pass and a two-year D.Ed in Special Education in any disability category. Fitter Grade II requires ITI in Plumbing trade with minimum one-year experience.

Lift Operator positions require 10th or 12th pass with ITI in Electrician or Wireman trade. Assistant Operator Cum Mechanic (A/C) needs 10th or 12th pass with ITI in Refrigeration & AC trade and relevant experience. Sub Station Apprentice requires 10th or 12th pass with Electrician Trade Certificate. Data Processing Assistant Grade A needs a degree or diploma in Computer Engineering with typing knowledge. Electrical Overseer/Sub Inspector requires a diploma or degree in Electrical discipline.

Age Limits and Relaxations

Age requirements differ by post category. Junior Scientific Assistant positions have an age limit of 18 to 27 years. Technical Assistant Hindi and Assistant Archivist Grade I have a maximum age of 30 years. IT Assistant Grade A requires a minimum age of 27 years.

Fitter Grade II candidates must be between 20 and 32 years old. Lift Operator positions accept candidates aged 18 to 37 years. NDMC posts generally have an age limit of 18 to 32 years.

Reserved category candidates receive age relaxation as per government rules. OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation. SC and ST candidates receive 5 years relaxation. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) are given 10 years relaxation.
