Dr. Jitendra Singh to Inaugurate the 52nd Annual Conference of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, a renowned diabetologist and life patron of the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), will serve as the chief guest at the 52nd Annual RSSDI Conference. This international gathering, set to take place from November 14 to 17, 2024, at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi, is one of the world’s largest forums for diabetes specialists, drawing experts, researchers, and practitioners from India and across the globe. The conference’s goal is to advance diabetes treatment, foster international collaboration, and explore cutting-edge research in diabetes management and prevention.

RSSDI President Dr. B.M. Makkar recently confirmed Dr. Jitendra Singh’s participation, marking the Union Minister’s continuous dedication to healthcare and diabetes research. This event is of particular significance for Dr. Singh, as he previously served as the Scientific Chairman of the RSSDI Conference when it was last held in Delhi in 2013.

Gathering of International Diabetes Experts and an Expansive Program

This year’s conference anticipates over 20,000 participants, featuring 27 internationally recognized faculty members who will share insights from diverse fields such as diabetes research, clinical care, and public health strategies. Attendees can expect a well-rounded program of keynote lectures, plenary sessions, interactive workshops, research presentations, and poster exhibitions. These sessions will address the latest advancements in diabetes management, therapeutic approaches, and the prevention of diabetes-related complications.

The conference’s educational value is underscored by contributions from global leaders in diabetes care, whose expertise will enrich discussions and promote innovation. Their participation strengthens the RSSDI’s mission to enhance diabetes care through the exchange of knowledge and international cooperation, ultimately advancing the fight against diabetes in India and beyond.

Special Highlights and Initiatives to Promote Diabetes Awareness

In addition to scientific sessions, the conference will feature unique highlights, including a sand art installation by renowned artist Sudarshan Patnaik, symbolizing the community’s commitment to diabetes care. Thousands of attendees will also participate in an oath-taking ceremony, emphasizing collective dedication to better diabetes management and awareness.

A key event will be the unveiling of a comprehensive white paper on diabetes care and research in India. Developed by the RSSDI, this white paper aims to standardize diabetes care practices across the country, providing actionable insights for healthcare providers, policymakers, and researchers to align diabetes management with best practices and improve patient outcomes.

Reinforcing Government Support for Public Health Initiatives

The RSSDI, with over 12,000 members worldwide, has long been instrumental in advancing diabetes research and education in India. Its annual conference serves as a vital forum for sharing innovative ideas, research breakthroughs, and best practices in diabetes care. Dr. Jitendra Singh’s involvement as chief guest highlights the government’s commitment to public health and innovative approaches to chronic health conditions such as diabetes.

The conference is poised to have a lasting impact, not only within the diabetes community but also on a national scale. By uniting researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers, it underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in diabetes research and care, setting the stage for a healthier future through scientific progress and governmental support.
