Dr. Jitendra Singh to Address Half Yearly Progress on CPGRAMS and National Initiatives

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) is set to host a National Workshop on โ€œEffective Redressal of Public Grievances and NextGen CPGRAMSโ€ on July 9, 2025, at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi. This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of fostering transparent and citizen-centric governance. The event will feature keynotes from prominent officials and aims to enhance the grievance redressal framework across India.

Workshop Details and Objectives

The upcoming workshop will be inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, who will also deliver the keynote address. This event marks a significant step in the ongoing reforms aimed at improving India’s grievance redressal system. The workshop will introduce the Sevottam Training Modules, developed by the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), which are designed to support Administrative Training Institutes across the country. These modules reflect DARPG’s dedication to empowering grievance redressal officers and fostering a proactive approach to grievance management within various ministries and departments.

Technical Sessions and Presentations

The workshop will feature a technical session that highlights various reform initiatives and innovations in grievance redressal. Senior officials from the DARPG and experts in public administration will present their insights. Notable presentations will include a half-yearly progress review by Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary of DARPG, and a discussion on Sevottam training led by Prof. Nirmalaya Bagchi from ASCI. Additionally, Shri Ratnesh Jha, Executive Director of the Ministry of Railways, will share valuable insights regarding the ministry’s experiences in grievance management.

State-Level Innovations and Best Practices

The workshop will also showcase successful innovations in grievance resolution from state governments. Senior officials from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will present their best practices in capacity-building and grievance resolution. The plenary session will feature addresses from Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary of DARPG, along with contributions from domain experts and former civil servants. This segment will emphasize the importance of establishing quality standards and prioritizing citizen-first service delivery through frameworks like Sevottam.

Participation and Expected Outcomes

The workshop is expected to attract over 200 senior officers from Central Ministries, State Governments, and Administrative Training Institutes (ATIs). It aims to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and the dissemination of best practices. Participants will collaborate to strengthen the roadmap for implementing the NextGen CPGRAMS, ensuring a more effective grievance redressal system that aligns with the government’s vision of responsive governance.
