DGFT Launches ‘Trade Connect’ ePlatform to Support Indian Exporters
To promote the Trade Connect ePlatform, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has actively participated in two significant B2B trade exhibitions this month: the 71st India International Garment Fair (IIGF) and the 16th Toy Biz International B2B Expo 2025. These events aim to enhance awareness and encourage the adoption of the platform among Indian exporters and international buyers. The DGFT’s involvement underscores its commitment to empowering Indian MSMEs through improved access to global markets.
Highlights from the India International Garment Fair
The 71st India International Garment Fair (IIGF) took place from July 1, 2025, at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Shri Pabitra Margherita, the Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs. As one of the largest B2B apparel trade exhibitions, IIGF featured over 360 Indian exhibitors showcasing a diverse range of products to buyers from 79 countries, including prominent markets such as the UK, Spain, Greece, Italy, France, and Germany. During the event, the Minister visited the Trade Connect booth, where he praised the platform’s services, emphasizing their role in supporting Indian MSME exporters. The fair provided a vital opportunity for exhibitors to connect with international buyers and expand their market reach.
Engagement at the Toy Biz International B2B Expo
Following the IIGF, the DGFT participated in the 16th Toy Biz International B2B Expo, held from July 4 to 7, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Organized by the Toy Association of India, this expo showcased over 400 Indian brands. The DGFT conducted live demonstrations of the Trade Connect platform, illustrating how it facilitates exporters in accessing reliable trade information and connecting with verified international buyers. The platform aims to streamline the process of entering global markets, making it easier for Indian exporters to navigate the complexities of international trade. This engagement further highlights the DGFT’s commitment to enhancing the visibility and accessibility of Indian products in the global marketplace.
Future Participation and Outreach Initiatives
The DGFT plans to continue its outreach efforts by participating in key upcoming events, including World Food India 2025 in New Delhi and the India International Jewellery Show in Mumbai. These events will provide additional platforms for the Trade Connect ePlatform to reach more exporters and international participants. By actively engaging in such exhibitions, the DGFT aims to strengthen the network of Indian exporters and enhance their competitiveness in the global market. The ongoing participation in trade fairs reflects the government’s dedication to fostering a robust export ecosystem for Indian MSMEs.
