Create in India Challenge Expands to Global Participation with Nearly 100,000 Participants

The Create in India Challenge (CIC) Season 1 is set to culminate in an exciting finale at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai from May 1 to May 4, 2025. This flagship initiative, part of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), has garnered significant attention, with nearly 100,000 registrations, including over 1,100 international participants from more than 60 countries. A total of 750 finalists will showcase their creative talents in various fields, including animation, gaming, and music, with winners receiving the prestigious โ€˜WAVES Creator Awardsโ€™ during a grand ceremony.

Global Participation and Diverse Finalists

The Creatosphere at WAVES will feature an impressive array of international talent, with 43 finalists representing over 20 countries. This global participation highlights the initiative’s widespread appeal. Countries such as Argentina, Nepal, Germany, and the United States will have finalists competing, with Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Tajikistan each contributing six participants. Other nations, including Indonesia, Maldives, and Mauritius, will also be represented. This diverse lineup not only showcases individual creativity but also emphasizes the initiative’s role in fostering international collaboration and cultural exchange.

National Representation from India

In addition to international entries, the Create in India Challenge has seen enthusiastic participation from across all 28 states and 8 Union Territories of India. This national footprint is reflected in the finalists’ list, which includes participants from regions as varied as Assam and Meghalaya in the East to Gujarat in the West, and Himachal Pradesh in the North to Kerala in the South. This broad representation underscores the initiative’s commitment to inclusivity and its ability to engage creators from all corners of the country.

Youth-Driven Innovation

The Create in India Challenge is predominantly driven by young creators, with most participants in their 20s. The initiative has attracted a vibrant mix of college students, early-career professionals, and even teen innovators, with the youngest finalist being just 12 years old and the oldest at 66. This age diversity reflects the initiative’s inclusive nature, allowing voices from various generations to contribute to the creative landscape. The challenges encourage grassroots innovation and celebrate the unique perspectives of young creators.

Celebrating Creativity and Cultural Heritage

The Create in India initiative not only promotes innovation but also celebrates India’s rich cultural heritage. Challenges such as “Innovate 2 Educate” aim to make education accessible, while “Make the World Wear Khadi” seeks to revive India’s textile legacy. The challenge “India: A Birdโ€™s Eye View” utilizes drone technology to capture stunning aerial visuals, showcasing the nation’s spirit and empowering communities through storytelling.
