Collaboration for World Food India 2025

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) recently held a significant roundtable interaction aimed at fostering collaboration for the upcoming World Food India 2025 event. This meeting took place on February 17, 2025, and gathered Resident Commissioners and representatives from various States and Union Territories (UTs). The primary goal was to discuss potential partnerships and strategies to enhance the food processing sector in India.

A Platform for Collaboration

The roundtable was chaired by the Secretary of the Food Processing Industries. During his welcome address, Shri Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary of FPI, emphasized the importance of this event. He noted that it would serve as a platform for States and UTs to showcase their unique opportunities. The interaction aimed to connect local stakeholders with global and domestic business leaders, suppliers, and technology providers. This collaboration is crucial for generating investment and sourcing interests across the food processing value chain.

The event is expected to attract significant attention, providing a unique opportunity for participants to engage with industry leaders. The discussions focused on how States and UTs can leverage their strengths to contribute to the success of World Food India 2025. World Food India 2025: A Mega Event

The Secretary of FPI announced that World Food India 2025 will take place from September 25 to 28, 2025. This event is envisioned to be much larger than previous editions organized by the Ministry. The Secretary outlined several initiatives aimed at boosting the food processing sector, including the Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLIS), the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY).

These initiatives aim to enhance investment, innovation, and value addition in the sector. The Secretary stressed that the success of such a large-scale event requires the active participation of all stakeholders. He encouraged States and UTs to share their feedback and suggestions to ensure the event’s success. The collaborative spirit is essential for making World Food India 2025 a landmark initiative in the food processing industry.

Engaging Stakeholders for Success

During the roundtable, Resident Commissioners and representatives from various States and UTs expressed their commitment to supporting the activities planned for World Food India 2025. They provided valuable feedback, suggesting consolidated sessions for States and UTs with similar products and food processing ecosystems. Additionally, they emphasized the need for handholding support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance their participation.

Shri D. Praveen, Joint Secretary of FPI, concluded the meeting by urging all States and UTs to actively engage with the Ministry. He highlighted the importance of showcasing the strengths of the Indian food processing sector. The Ministry plans to visit various states to connect with industry stakeholders, promote the event, and gather insights into industry challenges. This proactive approach aims to enhance the ease of doing business in the food processing sector.
