Chintan Shivir 2025: Driving Inclusive Governance

Dehradun, April 8, 2025 โ The second day of the Chintan Shivir 2025, organized by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, focused on fostering constructive dialogue and enhancing policy coherence. With participation from 34 States and Union Territories, discussions aimed at addressing practical challenges and promoting effective governance. The day commenced with a session dedicated to social empowerment, spotlighting national initiatives like the National Action Plan on Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA). Representatives from various states shared their experiences regarding field-level challenges and innovative solutions in combating substance abuse. Emphasizing community mobilization, the discussions highlighted the significance of awareness campaigns in addressing these pressing issues.
Furthermore, the session delved into the comprehensive rehabilitation of individuals engaged in begging. Additionally, a review of the Ministryโs four national finance and development corporationsโNSFDC, NBCFDC, NDFDC, and NSKFDCโoffered insights into income generation and livelihood promotion efforts targeting Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, Persons with Disabilities, and sanitation workers. Stakeholders engaged in brainstorming sessions aimed at streamlining access to finance and enhancing entrepreneurship among marginalized groups.
