Participants discussed strategies to achieve the ambitious target of 2 billion tonnes of coal production. They explored ways to improve coal transportation systems and adopt cleaner technologies, such as coal gasification.
The panel emphasized the need for a comprehensive SWOT analysis of both captive and commercial coal blocks. Key points included enhancing coal viability by addressing cost competitiveness with green power. The discussions also highlighted the importance of streamlining coal evacuation processes and improving transportation infrastructure, particularly through railways. Future logistics strategies for coal transportation were explored, focusing on both coastal and inland evacuation.
