Naval Induction Ceremony – 2023 will be held at Visakhapatnam
The Naval Induction Ceremony – 2023 will be held at Visakhapatnam Naval Base on May 31, 23 to congratulate Navy personnel who have demonstrated gallantry, leadership, professional achievement and high standard of distinguished service. Admiral R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), will confer the awards for gallantry and distinguished service on behalf of the President of India to the recipients.
This would also be the first time the naval investiture ceremony has taken place in the evening.
During the ceremony, 33 awards will be presented, including two Nao Sena (gallantry) medals, 13 Nao Sena (devotion to duty) medals, 16 Vishisht Seva medals and two Jeevan Raksha Padaks.

The CNS will also present Lieutenant VK Jain’s Commemorative Gold Medal for pioneering research in the field of weapon improvement and electrical engineering, and Captain Ravi Dhir’s Commemorative Gold Medal for the promotion of flight safety.
Unit citations will also be presented to operational units and ground units.
