Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan, recently welcomed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at his residence in New Delhi. The meeting centered on ongoing and future development initiatives in Madhya Pradesh, focusing on enhancing collaboration between the central government and the state. Key discussions included improving media outreach and broadcasting infrastructure, with an emphasis on utilizing central media platforms to promote development stories from the state.

Establishment of New Akashvani Kendra

During their discussions, Dr. Murugan and Dr. Yadav addressed the establishment of a new Akashvani Kendra in Ujjain. This initiative will be supported under the Centreโ€™s Broadcasting Infrastructure and Network Development (BIND) scheme. The new Kendra aims to bolster regional broadcasting, preserve cultural heritage, and provide timely information to the residents of Madhya Pradesh. The BIND scheme is designed to offer financial assistance to Prasar Bharati for expanding and upgrading its broadcasting infrastructure, developing content, and undertaking civil work related to the organization. This new facility is expected to enhance the reach and quality of broadcasting services in the region.

Commitment to Robust Broadcasting Infrastructure

Both leaders expressed their dedication to developing a strong broadcasting infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in underserved and aspirational districts. They acknowledged that improved connectivity and modern facilities are crucial for ensuring effective communication and information delivery to citizens across the state. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen cooperation between the Centre and Madhya Pradesh in various sectors. This collaboration aims to ensure that the benefits of development initiatives reach grassroots levels, contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bharat, or Developed India.

Significance of Institutional Synergy

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including Shri Hemant Khandelwal, Madhya Pradesh BJP State President, Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, Director General of Akashvani.
