The Central Board for Film Certification today released a statement on the issue of the film trailer Bahattar Hoorain. Defining the media reports, he said that “misleading reports are circulating in some sections of the media that a film and its trailer titled ‘Bahattar Hoorain (72 Hoorain)’ has received the rejected certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)” .
He further clarified that “contrary to reports, the film ‘Bahattar Hoorain (72 Hoorain)’ was granted ‘A’ certification and the certificate was released on 4-10-2019. Now, the trailer of the said film is in course of due process which was applied to the CBFC on 19-6-2023 and examined in accordance with guidelines issued under Section 5B(2) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952.”
The CBFC also stated that “The applicant was requested for the necessary documentary documents under summons and upon receipt thereof, certification was granted subject to change. A show cause notice communicating the changes was issued to the applicant/director on 27-6-2023 and the same is pending for the response/compliance of the applicant.”
The council has urged that any misleading reports cannot be entertained or disseminated henceforth when the matter is under due process.
