British Vlogger Praises India’s Train Food Delivery System

A British vlogger has sparked excitement on social media after showcasing India’s innovative food delivery service while traveling by train. George Buckley shared his experience with his 45,000 Instagram followers, highlighting how convenient it is to order meals mid-journey. His video has gone viral, prompting discussions about how the UK could learn from India’s efficient catering system.

Seamless Food Delivery Experience

In his video, Buckley documented his stop at Kanpur Central railway station during his trip to Varanasi. He expressed his enthusiasm for the food delivery service, stating, “We have just stopped at Kanpur Central railway station on our way to Varanasi. And now we are waiting for the delivery.” He used Zomato, a partner of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), to place his order. The process is straightforward: passengers enter their 10-digit PNR code and select their meal, which is then delivered at the designated station during a scheduled halt.

Buckley received his meal promptly, paying just Rs 345 for the service. He enjoyed the food alongside his co-passenger in the AC first-class compartment, further emphasizing the comfort and convenience of dining while traveling.

Social Media Buzz

The video quickly gained traction, amassing over half a million views and numerous likes and comments. Many viewers praised India’s mastery of food delivery, with one user commenting, “Mad isn’t it? I got a Domino’s delivered to my bed on a train there.” Another added, “Food delivery is not rocket science, but somehow we did it.” The positive feedback highlights the growing appreciation for India’s innovative solutions in the food delivery sector.

One viewer remarked on Buckley’s experience, saying, “It’s nice to see that you’re enjoying your time in India and appreciating their culture. Yes, there’s plenty of bad stuff sometimes, but it can happen anywhere in the world. This kind of content is top-notch!”

Global Recognition of India’s Infrastructure

Buckley’s experience is not an isolated incident. Recently, a German YouTuber, Alex Welder, also praised India’s metro system, claiming it surpasses some transit routes in Western Europe. Welder had arrived in India with preconceived notions of a struggling transport system but was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and modernity of the metro in cities like Delhi and Agra.

He noted, “I didn’t know that some cities in India like Agra and Delhi actually have a very decent metro system. Delhi even has platform screen doors on some of its lines, plugs to charge your phone, and designated seats for women and the elderly.” This growing recognition of India’s infrastructure and services showcases the country’s advancements in public transport and convenience economy, further enhancing its global image.
