In a heartwarming story shared on LinkedIn, Arnav Deshmukh, a product manager, recounted an incredible act of honesty by a Gurugram auto driver named Manirul Jaman. Deshmukh’s friend, who was moving to a new location, accidentally left her bag in the auto after paying the fare via UPI around 1 pm. The bag contained not only essential documents like her Aadhaar and PAN cards but also credit and debit cards, and a gold chain with a diamond pendantโ€”an irreplaceable family heirloom gifted by her late grandmother and mother.

Realizing the bag was missing, Deshmukh and his friend were filled with panic. They tried reaching out to the auto driver through UPI messenger, but to no avail. Turning to the Gurugram police for help, they hoped for a miracle. The police quickly jumped into action and began tracking the auto-rickshaw around 4 pm.

Just an hour later, their prayers were answered when they received a call from the property manager saying the auto driver had returned with the bag. Overwhelmed with joy, they rushed back to find everything in the bag intact, including the precious gold chain.

“Tears rolled down, and a sense of relief filled our minds. We rushed back to find everything in the bag was in its place. This experience strengthened our belief that goodness still exists, even in tier-1 cities like Gurugram,” Deshmukh shared on LinkedIn.

The auto driver’s selfless act deeply moved Deshmukh’s friend and her family. Many on the internet praised this extraordinary display of integrity and kindness, emphasizing that such stories remind us that humanity and compassion still thrive.

Reacting to the post, one user wrote, “Great act of humanity. Much appreciated. Can we get his contact number as my academy wants to gift him some reward?”

Another commented, “These kinds of posts need more attention. We often spread negative news for awareness, which is important. But sharing more positive stories will start a virtuous cycle. Kudos to both of them.”

A third remarked, “Honesty is indeed a personal choice, deeply rooted in one’s character and values. While you can be taught the importance of honesty, the true decision to live by it comes from within.”

This touching story serves as a powerful reminder that kindness and integrity are still alive, even in the hustle and bustle of city life.
