Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently chaired a crucial review meeting in New Delhi to discuss the implementation of three new criminal laws in Uttarakhand. Additionally, the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP) should conduct weekly reviews with officials from all relevant departments. This structured approach aims to keep the implementation process on track and address any challenges promptly.
Shah also stressed the importance of tracking Zero FIRs, which are first information reports that can be filed at any police station, regardless of jurisdiction. He urged the DGP to ensure that all Superintendents of Police investigate cases within the prescribed timelines.
