AMD Gaming Products at CES 2025

AMD’s new gaming processors are designed to cater to a variety of users, from casual gamers to content creators. The flagship models, the Ryzen 9900X3D and 9950X3D, are desktop processors that boast impressive specifications. The Ryzen 9950X3D features a 16-core architecture and utilizes second-generation 3D V-Cache technology. This innovative design allows the processor to achieve higher clock speeds while maintaining lower temperatures. By relocating the cache memory below the core complex die (CCD), AMD enhances performance and efficiency.

The Ryzen Z2 series targets handheld gaming devices, offering up to 8 โ€œZen 5โ€ CPU cores and RDNA 3.5 architecture-powered graphics. This series is designed to provide a seamless gaming experience on portable devices. Meanwhile, the Ryzen 9000HX series processors are tailored for mobile notebooks, featuring the same advanced 3D V-Cache technology as their desktop counterparts. These mobile processors can deliver up to 16 cores and 32 threads of processing power, ensuring that users can enjoy high-performance gaming on the go.

The Ryzen 9900X3D and 9950X3D desktop processors, along with the Ryzen Z2 series, are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2025. The Ryzen 9000HX series will follow in the first half of the year, making these exciting new products available to consumers soon.

AMD Chips for AI PCs

In addition to its gaming processors, AMD has expanded its lineup of AI PC CPUs. The new Ryzen AI Max, Ryzen AI 300, and Ryzen AI 200 series processors are designed to meet the growing demand for AI-driven applications. The Ryzen AI Max processor stands out with its impressive specifications, featuring up to 16 โ€œZen 5โ€ CPU cores and 40 AMD RDNA 3.5 graphics compute units. It also includes an AMD XDNA 2 neural processing unit (NPU) capable of delivering up to 50 TOPS of AI compute performance.

The Ryzen AI Max Pro series is particularly noteworthy, as it is engineered to handle AI-accelerated workloads, making it ideal for professionals working with large engineering and architectural models. This series offers a robust combination of CPU and GPU capabilities, ensuring that users can tackle demanding tasks with ease.

The Ryzen AI 300 and Ryzen AI 300 Pro chips also feature up to 8 โ€œZen 5โ€ CPU cores and an RDNA 3.5 graphics architecture. These processors are compatible with the next generation of Microsoft Copilot+ devices, providing peak AI performance with over 50 NPU TOPS. The Ryzen AI Max series and Ryzen AI 300 series chips are set to be available in the first quarter of 2025, while the Ryzen 200 series is expected to launch in the second quarter of the same year.
