Scene 1: A Rose, a Knife, and a Rescue
Aman drops to one knee in the courtyard. He holds out a single red rose and looks up at Anjali. “Anjali,” he says softly, “I love you. Will you accept this rose?”
Anjali takes a small step closer. She lifts her hand to take the rose. Just then, a figure in a waiter’s uniform lunges at her with a knife.
Aman moves faster. He catches the blade between his bare fingers. He twists the attacker’s wrist and forces the knife away. The man cries out. Aman pushes him back and strikes him once on the shoulder. The attacker staggers and falls.
Anjali steps back, heart pounding. She grabs a metal vase and swings it at the next man who steps forward. The vase hits his arm, and he drops a club. She kicks it away. Two more goons rush her. Anjali ducks and jabs her elbow into one man’s ribs. He doubles over and she lands a solid palm to his chest. He falls backward.
The courtyard grows quiet. The wounded goons lie on the ground. Anjali stands in the center. She looks at each man in turn and demands, “Who sent you?”
One goon groans and whispers, “Yuvraj sent us.”
Anjali narrows her eyes. She pulls out her phone and calls Pankaj. Her voice echoes in the empty hallways. “Pankaj, they just attacked me. Yuvraj sent them.”
Scene 2: A Taunt Wrapped in an Invitation
A few hours later, Chandraman and Yuvraj pull up outside Anjali’s house in a sleek car. They step onto the porch together. Chandraman carries a fancy envelope.
Sapna opens the door. Chandraman offers her the envelope. “This is our wedding invitation,” he says. “Yuvraj and Mehek will wed soon.” He turns to Padma, who stands silently behind Sapna. “You are invited too.”
Yuvraj steps forward with a bow that does not reach his eyes. He hands a second card to Sapna. Then he smirks at Padma. “You put me in jail just for holding your hand,” he says. “Now you come to my marriage?”
Padma purses her lips. Yuvraj’s gaze flicks to Anjali, standing at the edge of the hall. “If you think Anjali can stop me, you are wrong.”
He laughs softly. “Like Shakuni’s scheme in the Mahabharata, my plan will win.”
Anjali steps forward. She meets his gaze. “Shakuni lost in the end and died,” she replies. Her voice is calm. “You will not become part of our Rajput family.”
Chandraman clears his throat. He spreads his arms wide. “You challenge me?” he asks. Anjali nods. Chandraman’s voice rises. “Then Yuvraj’s wedding will happen no matter what. I promise that Anjali herself will light his aarti lamp.”
Yuvraj laughs again and claps his hands. “We will see,” he says. He waves and turns away. Chandraman follows him to the car. The engine starts, and they drive off.
Scene 3: Seeking Allies and Facing Refusal
Inside, Sapna looks at Anjali with worry. “Was it Yuvraj and Chandraman who sent those men?” she asks.
Anjali nods. She leans against the wall. “They have tried to hurt me more than once,” she says.
She glances at Padma. “Will you help me stop them?”
Padma shakes her head. “I am sorry,” she says quietly. “I cannot.”
Anjali steadies herself. She pulls out her phone and calls Mehek. The line connects.
“Why do you want to marry Yuvraj?” Anjali asks plainly. “You once hated him.”
Mehek’s voice is soft. “I do this for my father’s happiness,” she says. “Raghav has never asked me for anything before. He now wants to win this case.”
Anjali leans back against the door. “Please don’t let him use you,” she pleads.
Mehek sighs. “I will not change my mind,” she replies firmly before ending the call.
Sapna places a hand on Anjali’s shoulder. “What will you do now?” she asks.
Anjali folds her arms. “I think this is Raghav’s biggest trick yet,” she says. “He set all this in motion.”
