National Youth Day: PM to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue
On January 12, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commemorate National Youth Day by participating in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This event marks the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a revered figure in Indian history. The Prime Minister will engage with 3,000 enthusiastic young leaders from across the nation, addressing them on the importance of youth involvement in shaping India’s future. This initiative aims to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed India.
A Shift from Tradition to Innovation
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue represents a significant departure from the traditional National Youth Festival. For 25 years, this festival has followed a conventional format. However, this year, the focus shifts to engaging youth in politics and governance without political affiliations. The Prime Minister’s call to involve 1 lakh youth in political discussions aims to create a national platform for innovative ideas. This initiative encourages young leaders to present their visions for a “Viksit Bharat,” or developed India.
During the event, selected young leaders will deliver ten PowerPoint presentations on thematic areas crucial to India’s development. These presentations will showcase innovative solutions to pressing challenges facing the country. The themes include technology, sustainability, women empowerment, manufacturing, and agriculture. By providing a platform for these discussions, the government aims to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration among the youth.
Engaging with Young Minds
Prime Minister Modi’s participation in the dialogue goes beyond a mere address. He will join the young leaders for lunch, creating an informal setting for open dialogue. This unique opportunity allows participants to share their ideas, experiences, and aspirations directly with the Prime Minister. Such personal interactions can bridge the gap between governance and youth aspirations, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility among the participants.
The dialogue will also feature various activities, competitions, and cultural presentations. Young leaders will engage in discussions led by mentors and domain experts, further enriching their understanding of the themes. Cultural performances and a drone show will highlight India’s artistic heritage while showcasing modern advancements. This blend of tradition and innovation aims to inspire the youth to take an active role in shaping the future of the nation.
