Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel inaugurates Panchayat Sammelan on “Ease of Living” in Agra.
A big meeting called Panchayat Sammelan took place in Agra on November 19, 2024. It was about making life easier and better services for people living in villages. Professor S. P. Singh Baghel, a Union Minister, opened the event. Other important people like Shri Om Prakash Rajbhar, a state minister, and Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, a secretary, were also there. They all talked about how to improve services in villages. Many people from different states such as Assam, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh came to the meeting. This helped everyone share ideas and learn from each other.
Improving Village Life
Professor Baghel talked about how Panchayats, which are local village councils, can help bring change. He said these councils are not just about rules, but they can help villages grow by using technology and new ideas. He asked people to stop the practice where husbands interfere with women leaders in these councils. He also encouraged using digital tools like the e-Gram Swaraj portal to give weather updates to villagers. The idea is to make villages smart so people have better lives there, and they donโt feel the need to move to cities. Professor Baghel also recommended community halls in villages to bring more income and better services.
On World Toilet Day, Professor Baghel praised the Indian Prime Minister’s effort to improve toilets and health. He asked village leaders to make sure everyone knows about government programs, especially healthcare for older people. Shri Om Prakash Rajbhar, a minister, announced a campaign to improve toilets in the state. He said this meeting is a step towards making every village a place where services are easy to get and clear.
Technology and Recognition
Shri Vivek Bharadwaj talked about how technology can make a big difference in villages. He explained that using digital tools can bring government services closer to people. He praised Uttar Pradesh for doing a good job in using these new tools. Over the last ten years, many changes have made life easier in the villages. Digital services mean people donโt have to wait in long lines anymore. The meeting also celebrated five Panchayat Assistants from Uttar Pradesh for their hard work in helping their villages. They were recognized for their great work in making village services better.
A special part of the event was using a tool called Bhashini to translate the meeting into eleven languages, so everyone could understand, no matter what language they spoke. Other speakers, like Shri Narendra Bhooshan and Smt. Manju Bhadauria, also shared their thoughts. The meeting was perfectly timed with World Toilet Day, with a theme focusing on peace and cleanliness. They talked a lot about the challenges of keeping villages clean and how Panchayats can help. New ideas and technologies were shared, such as ServicePlus and other digital tools. These tools can help make services in villages better and faster to reach people.
In conclusion, the Panchayat Sammelan showed a strong promise to use technology and improve infrastructure in villages. The goal is to make every Panchayat a place where services are quick, clear, and easy to get. By sharing knowledge and ideas, this meeting set the stage for a new way of governing that could change village life for the better.
