Kadambini Ganguly (18 July 1861 โ€“ 3 October 1923) was one of the first Indian female doctors who practised with a degree in modern medicine, alongside other pioneering women such as Anandibai Joshi. Ms Ganguly was the first woman to gain admission to Calcutta Medical College in 1884, subsequently trained in Scotland, and established a successful medical practice in India. She was born on 18 July 1861 in Bhagalpur, Bengal Presidency, British India.

Vellore Lakshmanaswamy Mudaliar Ethiraj (18 July 1890 โ€“ 18 August 1960) was an Indian lawyer and philanthropist who founded Ethiraj College for Women, a college in Chennai, India. He was the first Indian to be appointed as Crown Prosecutor by the British Raj. He also served as the President of the Madras Bar Association. He was born on 18 July 1890 in Madras Presidency, British India.

Bishnu Dey (18 July 1909 โ€“ 3 December 1982), a Bengali poet, writer and academician in the era of modernism, and post-modernism. He published a magazine wherein he encouraged socially conscious writing. Throughout his literary career, he taught English literature at various institutes such as Ripon College, and Presidency College. He was born on 18 July 1909 in Bengal Presidency, British India.

Rajesh Khanna (29 December 1942 โ€“ 18 July 2012) was an Indian actor, film producer and politician. He starred consecutively in a record 15 commercially successful films between 1969 to 1971. He was awarded with numerous accolades: four BFJA Awards and five Filmfare Awards, and in 2013, he was posthumously awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honour. He died on 18 July 2012 in Maharashtra, India.

S. Rangarajan (29 October 1931 โ€“ 18 July 2013), an Indian poet and lyricist whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade-long association with the Tamil film industry, and wrote over 15,000 songs. He acted in a number of films, including Sathya, Hey Ram, Paarthale Paravasam and Poikkal Kudhirai. He was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour in 2007. He died on 18 July 2013 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
