Vendor Development Programme Boosts MSME Partnerships in Ranchi
The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a Mini-Ratna subsidiary of Coal India Limited, teamed up with the MSME Development Office in Ranchi and the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, to host a two-day Vendor Development Programme-cum-Product Exhibition from September 9 to 10, 2026. This event aimed to promote collaboration between micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) and larger corporations.
Inauguration and Key Messages
The program commenced on September 9, under the leadership of Shri Chaudhari Shivraj Singh, CMD of CMPDI, alongside Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh, CMD of CCL, and various dignitaries. In his opening remarks, Shri Chaudhari affirmed that the Vendor Development Programme goes beyond a traditional buyer-seller interaction. Instead, it serves as a crucial platform for fostering lasting partnerships between corporates and MSMEs. He highlighted the essential role of MSMEs in driving innovation and specialized solutions that align with the ever-evolving needs of large enterprises, thereby generating new growth opportunities that contribute to India’s vision of a developed nation.
Supporting MSME Growth
Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh, the Chief Guest, emphasized the significant contributions of micro and small enterprises in achieving an Atmanirbhar Bharat, or self-reliant India. He assured attendees of comprehensive support from the government and encouraged participants to maximize the benefits of the program to adapt their products and businesses to modern demands.
Engagement Opportunities
Shri Indrajit Yadav, Director of the MSME Development Office in Ranchi, outlined the program’s objectives, which included providing a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to engage directly with officials from participating public sector undertakings. Additionally, Shri Pankaj Kumar, CCO of CCL and CMPDI, stated that the initiative, part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026, aims to ensure transparency and fairness within the government procurement process.
Platform for Interaction
During the first day, the program featured technical sessions and a Buyer-Seller Meet where representatives from various organizations like CMPDI, CCL, and others shared insights on procurement and vendor registration processes through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). On the following day, sessions continued with feedback and guidance on procurement policies, catered specifically to the needs of MSME entrepreneurs.
Product Exhibition and Participation Facts
Throughout the event, five public sector organizations and 15 micro and small enterprise units showcased their products in exhibition stalls. Over 200 entrepreneurs actively participated in technical sessions, engaging directly with officials during interactive Q&A segments to clarify their concerns and inquiries.
