Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (Z) has entered into a groundbreaking collaboration with the Kabaddi Champions League (KCL) Haryana, aiming to broadcast professional kabaddi to a national audience starting January 25, 2026. This partnership will unleash the thrilling action of the highly anticipated league, sanctioned by the Amateur Kabaddi Association Haryana (AKAH), during its inaugural season, which runs until February 7, 2026.
Broadcasting the Spirit of Kabaddi
The KCL Haryana will feature eight formidable franchises including Karnal Kings, Gurugram Gurus, Rohtak Royals, Faridabad Fighters, Panipat Panther, Sonipat Stars, Bhiwani Bulls, and Hisar Heros. Viewers can catch the action live on the Zee 5 app and across Zee’s extensive linear channels. The initiative ensures that matches are available in Hindi and regional languages, enhancing accessibility for passionate fans across India, especially where kabaddi holds cultural significance.
This 14-day tournament aims to not only showcase competitive kabaddi but also to elevate local players to a professional platform, with guidance from notable figures such as Dronacharya Awardee Shri Balwan Singh, alongside star brand ambassadors Rajesh Narwal and Mohit Chhillar.
A Comprehensive Viewer Experience
The visionary partnership extends well beyond match broadcasts. Zee Entertainment plans to create a full-fledged content ecosystem on Zee 5, including podcasts like “Champions Talks” with players and coaches and behind-the-scenes footage titled “Champ’s POV.” The extensive promotional campaign is designed to attract a youthful, engaged audience capable of evolving the kabaddi viewing experience. With its cumulative audience exceeding 800 million viewers, Zee aims to cultivate a vibrant, youth-centric fanbase across the nation.
Laxmi Shetty, head of advertisement revenue at Zee Entertainment, emphasized the significance of this partnership in promoting authentic sports content while strengthening their media portfolio. She stated, “Kabaddi resonates with the heartbeat of Bharat. Partnering with KCL Haryana allows brands to connect with an engaged audience and monetize niche regional properties, enriching the sports landscape in India.”
In alignment with broader social initiatives, KCL Haryana is also committed to supporting the Government of Haryana’s “Drug-Free Haryana” campaign by fostering fitness and discipline among the youth through sports.
The season kicks off with a Trophy Tour across the state, with fans anticipating high-quality production, expert commentary from well-known sports analysts, and exciting live performances throughout the match days.
