Mahindra Susten Boosts Renewable Energy with 560 MWp Solar Projects in 2025

Mahindra Susten, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, has announced the successful commissioning of 560 MWp of solar power capacity in the calendar year 2025. This significant achievement highlights the company’s leadership in the utility-scale renewable energy landscape and follows its earlier divestment of 1.54 GWp of assets in 2024 to Sustainable Energy Infra Trust.

Strategic Project Locations

The newly commissioned projects include a 280 MWp solar facility in Gujarat and another 280 MWp plant in Rajasthan. Both projects are set to deliver power under long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) and Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) for the next 25 years.

Innovative Technology Deployment

Covering nearly 2,000 acres, these solar power plants are engineered to provide reliable electricity to the regional grids. Mahindra Susten has utilized advanced N-Type TOPCon bifacial solar modules alongside high-efficiency inverters and dry-cleaning solutions to maximize energy yield. Power is transmitted through sturdy 220 kV substations, ensuring robust grid connectivity and seamless integration into statewide electrical grids.

Impressive Project Impact

With an estimated annual output of approximately 1,000 million units (MUs) of clean electricity, this portfolio also required significant resources, including about 12,400 tons of steel and 2,600 km of cabling, alongside 1 million solar modules. The projects were executed with a peak workforce of around 1,000, achieving 2.9 million safe man-hours, reflecting Mahindra Susten’s commitment to safety and quality in its operations.

Looking Towards the Future

Beyond this recent milestone, Mahindra Susten is actively expanding its renewable energy initiatives with various large-scale projects underway in states like Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Karnataka. The company aims to leverage its diverse portfolio in utility-scale PPAs, hybrid solutions, and group-captive projects to meet the rising demand for clean energy in India.

Commitment to Community Welfare

Mahindra Susten believes in responsible development, engaging local communities through initiatives that enhance education, skills, and livelihoods. Their social programs, like Gyandeep, aim to ensure that the benefits of renewable energy projects positively impact neighboring communities, reflecting the company’s dedication to sustainable growth and community welfare.
