India Hosts Regional Pre-Summit for AI Innovation

In a significant step toward fostering responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystems across India, the IndiaAI Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is set to organize a Regional Pre-Summit Event on December 11, 2025. This initiative is in partnership with the Government of Gujarat and the Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar, and will take place at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

This regional conference will lay the groundwork for the highly anticipated India–AI Impact Summit 2026, which is scheduled for February 15-20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The Gandhinagar event aims to unite senior policymakers, technology leaders, industry practitioners, and researchers to discuss the profound transformations AI can bring to the economic, digital, and social landscapes.

Inaugural Ceremony and Distinguished Guests

The conference will commence with a formal inauguration featuring various dignitaries. Notable attendees will include Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Rajnikant Patel, along with Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Rameshbhai Sanghavi, and Minister for Science & Technology, Shri Arjunbhai Devabhai Modhwadia. The Chief Secretary of Gujarat, Shri Manoj Kumar Das, will also participate, alongside Shri Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at MeitY, and Ms. Ponugumatla Bharathi, Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology in Gujarat.

Exploring AI Innovations for Public Good

Centered on the theme AI for Good Governance: Empowering India’s Digital Future, the event will feature impactful keynote sessions led by national and international experts from organizations like MeitY, Google Cloud, Microsoft, IBM Research, NVIDIA, Oracle, AWS, and Bhashini. These sessions will delve into critical topics such as:

  • AI for governance and public service delivery
  • AI’s transformative impact on urban and rural development
  • Smart agriculture and rural advancement through AI
  • The future of generative AI and its innovations
  • AI applications in healthcare and public well-being
  • Financial technology and digital inclusion via AI
  • Multilingual AI and the efforts of BHASHINI in fostering language accessibility

Networking and Experience Zone

In addition to keynote sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in networking activities. They will also visit an Experience Zone, collaboratively organized by IndiaAI and the DST Gujarat, which will showcase AI solutions across various sectors including governance, healthcare, agriculture, and industry.

By bringing together government officials, innovators from industry, and academic leaders, the Gandhinagar Regional Pre-Summit is expected to enhance India’s AI ecosystem. The insights gained during this conference will play a vital role in shaping the agenda and outcomes of the forthcoming India-AI Impact Summit 2026, underscoring India’s commitment to developing a safe and globally significant future in AI.
