A two-day scientific convention on “Homoeopathy: People’s Choice for Wellness” was inaugurated today at New Delhi by Union Minister for Ayush, Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal.

On World Homoeopathy Day (WHD), the three apex bodies under the Ministry of AyushCentral Council for Research in Homoeopathy, National Commission for Homoeopathy, and National Institute of Homoeopathy – are co-organizing this convention. On World Homoeopathy Day, we celebrate the birthday of Christian Fredrich Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy.

Shri Sonowal told the gathering that Ayush is undergoing a paradigm shift in education, practice and drug development. He said that the National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine and the National Commission for Homoeopathy, which have been recently created, have aligned Ayush education to the new education policy and are attracting new talents so that, not only is Ayush the first choice of treatment, but it will also be the first choice for students looking for medical education. He said homeopathy is easy to use and accepted by a lot of people. Homeopathy is widely accepted, and people have been going to family doctors for generations.

Mahendrabhai Munjpara said that homoeopathy is very effective in treating different diseases and improving individuals’ health via safer means at a lower cost.

The convention is a chance to look back at the path we’ve walked so far, to recognize successes, and to formulate future plans for homoeopathy. It’s time to initiate a dialogue between the major stakeholders of homoeopathy about much-needed standards in clinical research informatics, data standards in clinical research, policy issues, educational standards, and instructional resources. Clinical care delivery and research can merge, as a part of a changing paradigm in global health-care delivery. I think it’s important to identify and propose strategies for a more effective and efficient integration of homoeopathy in integrative care.

Among the delegates were homoeopathic researchers, scientists from interdisciplinary streams, practitioners, students, industrialists, and representatives of various homoeopathic associations.
