Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, addressing the nation on the 77th Independence Day from New Delhi’s Red Fort, said cooperatives are a significant part of the country’s social economy. He said that a separate cooperation ministry was created to strengthen cooperatives, modernize them and strengthen the greatest unity of democracy in every corner of the country

The Prime Minister said that the Ministry of Cooperation is spreading a network of cooperatives in the country, ensuring that even the voices of the poorest people are heard, their needs are met and they can contribute to the development of the nation. He stressed that India has chosen the path of “Sahkar se Samriddhi”.
