Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘Maritime India Summit 2021’ on 2nd March via video conferencing.

The Maritime India Summit 2021 is being organized by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways on a virtual platform www.maritimeindiasummit.in for three days from 2nd March to 4th March 2021. It is aimed to explore the business potential and aligned to make India Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The Summit will visualize a roadmap for India’s Maritime sector for the next decade and will work to propel India to the forefront of the Global Maritime Sector. Eminent speakers from several countries are expected to attend the Summit and explore the potential business opportunities and investments in the Indian Maritime domain. Denmark is the partner country for the three-day summit.

It would be a completely online event. The event will allow attendees to view keynote sessions, webinars, exhibition booths and interact with the exhibitors via Audio/Video calls and Chat options. The talks cover numerous subjects like Manpower Development, Investment opportunities in various states, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Ship Recycling, Ease of Doing Business, Water Transport, Bulk Cargo Transportation, Port-led Industrialization, Green and Sustainable Maritime Sector, Maritime Heritage, and Development of Port Infrastructure

On the 3rd and final day of the events, there are scheduled address by Mr Qudratullah Zaki, Minister of Transport, Afghanistan; Mr Suren Papikyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, Armenia; Mohammad Rastad, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Managing Director of Ports and Maritime Organisation, Government of Iran; Mr Oleg N Ryazantsev, Deputy Minister of Industry & Trade, Russia; Mr Choriyev Jasurbek Ergashevich, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr Farhad Montaser Kouhsari, Deputy Managing Director for Ports and Economic Affairs, Government of Iran.
