The Ministry of Coal, along with Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries like NLCIL, CCO, and CMPFO, is all set to kick off the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2024. This campaign aims to promote cleanliness across India and encourage more people to participate in community activities, also known as Jan Bhagidari.
Preparing for the Launch
The official launch of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign will take place between 14th and 16th September 2024. The theme this year is โSwabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhataโ, which highlights the importance of making cleanliness a part of our daily habits and culture.
To start things off, the Ministry will lead a Swachhata Pledge, where everyone will promise to keep their surroundings clean. They will also put up banners, standees, and digital displays at key locations to spread awareness about the campaign and encourage people to get involved.
Social media will play a big role in reaching more people and inspiring them to take part in this important cause.
Launch Day Events
On 17th September 2024, the Ministry of Coal will officially begin the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, aiming to organize over 1,000 events in the states where coal is mined. More than 10 lakh people are expected to join the various activities planned for the day.
Key Activities on Launch Day
- Plantation and Cleanliness Drives:
- Under the theme โEk Ped Maa Ke Naamโ (A Tree in Motherโs Name), the Ministry, in collaboration with CIL and its subsidiaries, will hold tree-planting and cleanliness drives across the country. This activity will encourage people to plant trees and clean up their surroundings, showing their love and care for the environment.
- Sampoorna Swachhata Drive:
- A large-scale Sampoorna Swachhata Drive will focus on cleaning public places like water bodies, roads, and railway stations. The public will be encouraged to join these efforts by doing Shramdaan, which means contributing their time and effort to help clean these areas.
A Cleaner and Greener India
The Ministry of Coal hopes that this campaign will have a positive impact on the environment by encouraging people to keep their communities clean and green. By working together, India can move closer to achieving the dream of a cleaner and healthier country.
This initiative is not just about cleanliness, but also about building a sense of responsibility among people to care for their surroundings. The campaign also aligns with the governmentโs vision of a greener India by focusing on tree plantation and reducing waste.
