India vaccination drive

India vaccination drive has administered 30.93 lakh vaccine doses on day 77.  The vaccination drive was rolled out on 16th January 2021.

On  Day-77 of the vaccination drive (2 April 2021), a total of 30,93,795  vaccine doses were given. Among which,  28,87,779 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 2,06,016 HCWs and FLWs received 2nd dose of the vaccine.

As on Day-76 of the vaccination drive (1 April 2021), a total of 36,71,242  vaccine doses were given. Among which,  33,65,597 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 3,05,645 HCWs and FLWs received 2nd dose of the vaccine. On 1 April, India has achieved a milestone in its vaccination drive with the highest ever single-day figure of more than 36.7 lakh vaccination coverage recorded in the last 24 hours.

So far, more than 7.3  cr (7,30,54,295) vaccine doses have been administered.  It covers around 6.31 crores of the first dosage and around 0.99 crores for the second dosage to HCWs, FLWs, beneficiaries aged more than 45 years of age.

COVID-19 cases across states

Eight states including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh have shown a steep rise in the COVID daily new cases. 81.42% of the new cases are reported from these 8 states.

89,129new cases were registered in the last 24 hours.

Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases at 47,913. It is followed by Karnataka with 4,991 while Chhattisgarh reported 4,174 new cases.
