India Launches AI-Powered Trademark Search Tool and IP Saarthi Chatbot to Boost Innovation

Shalini Singh

Today, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal introduced two groundbreaking technologies in New Delhi: the AI and Machine Learning-based Trademark Search Technology and the IP Saarthi Chatbot. These new tools are set to change how India handles trademarks and intellectual property (IP).

Faster and Smarter Trademark Searches

During the launch event, Shri Goyal explained how the new Trademark Search Technology will make it quicker and easier to process trademark applications. This tool uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to ensure applications are handled faster and more accurately. This will help avoid conflicts over trademark ownership and make sure businesses get the protection they need.

Shri Goyal also mentioned that in future updates, official Indian languages could be added to the search tool. This would make it one of the best trademark search platforms in the world. He added that the government is working to include AI and ML technology in other areas like design approval. This would also improve the way patents are processed, ensuring faster and better results.

More Accessible Technology for Everyone

The Minister stressed the importance of making sure that these new AI tools are easy to use on all types of devices. Whether someone uses a smartphone, tablet, or computer, these tools should work smoothly to help more people access them.

Encouraging Women and Startups in Innovation

Shri Goyal was happy to share that there has been a big increase in patent applications by women over the last ten years. He pointed out that the government has made it cheaper for certain groups to apply for patents. Startups, small businesses (MSMEs), women entrepreneurs, individuals, and academic institutions now pay 80% less in fees. This is to encourage more people to create and protect their new ideas.

A Week of Technology Launches

This week has been full of new technology services from the government. Along with the Trademark Search Technology and IP Saarthi Chatbot, other services launched include:

  • Trade Connect e-Platform
  • Jan Sunwai Portal
  • ECGC’s new online service portal
  • SMILE-ERP system
  • BHASKAR: A one-stop platform for startups

Shri Goyal highlighted the government’s focus on making it easier for businesses to operate in India. He believes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming essential for daily work, and quicker adoption of this technology will lead to better results.

India’s Commitment to Growth and Innovation

Shri Goyal quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “3 Is” – Intelligence, Idea, and Innovation. He said these are the key traits of India’s youth, who are recognized worldwide for their skills and talents. Shri Goyal emphasized that India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 is not just a dream. It is the shared mission of 1.4 billion Indians to make this a reality.

A Call to Innovate

In his closing remarks, Shri Goyal urged everyone to keep innovating and improving their work. He expressed hope that India’s solutions in intellectual property would set a global standard in the coming years.

Advanced Tools for a Stronger IP System

The launch of the AI-powered Trademark Search Technology and the IP Saarthi Chatbot shows India’s dedication to improving its intellectual property system. The new technology uses AI and ML to:

  1. Find trademarks faster and more accurately for both Indian and international businesses.
  2. Simplify the trademark search process to make it easier for everyone.
  3. Protect trademarks better, helping businesses secure their brand identity.

These tools are part of a larger plan by the government to make India’s intellectual property services some of the best in the world.

The IP Saarthi Chatbot: Your Digital Assistant

The IP Saarthi Chatbot is another exciting tool introduced at the event. It acts as a digital assistant, helping users navigate the sometimes complicated process of IP registration. Whether you need help with trademarks or patents, the chatbot is there to provide quick answers and guidance.

A Major Step Forward

These new tools represent a big step in India’s digital transformation, especially in the field of intellectual property. With AI-powered trademark search technology and the IP Saarthi Chatbot, India is showing its leadership in technological innovation. These tools will not only benefit people in India but also help businesses and innovators around the world. The new system will make the process of protecting ideas and inventions faster and more efficient, encouraging even more innovation.
