India Enhances MSME Competitiveness with New Export Facilitation Centers, FDI Reforms, and Logistics Initiatives

The Government of India is stepping up efforts to boost the competitiveness of Indian industries, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), by implementing a range of initiatives. To enhance global participation, the Ministry of MSME has established 60 Export Facilitation Centers (EFCs) nationwide, providing crucial mentoring and support for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) to enter international markets. Financial assistance is also available under various schemes such as the MSME Champions Scheme and the RAMP Scheme.

Additionally, the government has introduced investor-friendly reforms to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) across multiple sectors, making India a more attractive destination for global investors. The PM GatiShakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy (NLP) have been launched to reduce logistics costs and improve infrastructure, creating a more efficient business environment.

Efforts to improve the Ease of Doing Business are also ongoing, with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) spearheading initiatives like the Business Reform Action Plan and the Udyam registration portal for MSMEs. These measures are part of a broader strategy to foster economic growth by simplifying regulatory processes and creating a supportive ecosystem for businesses in India.
