Eklavya Model Residential School teacher Dr. Yashpal Singh conferred National Teachers Award – 2023

Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Shri Arjun Munda today congratulated Dr Yashpal Singh, a teacher from Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), who has been bestowed with the National Teacher Award – 2023. Dr Yashpal Singh, principal, EMRS Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh was one of the 75 most talented teachers who were selected through a rigorous and transparent three-stage online process from across the country for the National Teachers Award by the President of India on Day of the Teachers.

On the occasion, Shri Munda said, “It is a proud moment for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to see an EMRS teacher emerge as a national winner, for the fourth time. His exemplary work will motivate other teachers and students in the school to walk the road to excellence”.

Dr. Yashpal Singh has demonstrated his commitment and diligence towards the profession by making remarkable contributions to elevate the status of EMRS Bhopal and take the name of the school to new heights. His distinguished contributions include advancing the school’s infrastructure, creating smart classrooms for EMRS students, initiating tree planting and sustainable environmental practices, ensuring zero dropout, and enabling skills in emrs.

Indeed, this award demonstrates the dedicated efforts of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to facilitate tribal schools and the integration of students into mainstream schooling, thus ensuring a better and more successful future. It also recognizes all EMRS teachers and principals who work collaboratively to improve educational standards for tribal students. The concept of establishing EMRS was initiated in the year 1997-98 to impart quality education to ST children in remote areas in order to enable them to avail opportunities in high and professional education courses and to find employment in various sectors.
