Rahul Sankrityayan (9 April 1893 – 14 April 1963) was a scholar and writer. He is also called the “Father of Indian Travelogue Travel literature” and “Mahapandit” (Great Scholar). He is the one who played a pivotal role in giving travelogue a ‘literature form’, and was one of the most widely travelled scholars of India, spending forty-five years of his life on travels away from his home. He was both a polymath as well as a polyglot. The Government of India awarded him the civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan in 1963.
Sharan Rani (9 April 1929 – 8 April 2008) was an Indian classical sarod player and music scholar. Her private collection of 379 musical instruments ranging from the 15th to the 19th century is now part of the “Sharan Rani Backliwal Gallery of Musical Instruments” at the National Museum, New Delhi. She was born on 9 April 1929 in Delhi, British India.
Jaya Bachchan is an Indian film actress and politician. She is affiliated with the Samajwadi Party (SP) and a member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha serving four terms since 2004. During her career, she won nine Filmfare Awards: including three for Best Actress and three for Best Supporting Actress. She was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. He founded Shakti Films in 1957, which is most known for films such as Howrah Bridge (1958), Insan Jaag Utha (1959), China Town (1962), Kashmir Ki Kali (1964), An Evening in Paris (1967), Aradhana (1969), Kati Patang (1971), and Amar Prem (1972). He died on 9 April 2009 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Ale Narendra (21 August 1946 – 9 April 2014) was an Indian politician. He was a member of the 13th and 14th Lok Sabha of India. He was one of the biggest proponents of Telangana statehood. Ale Narendra and other individuals associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He died on 9 April 2014 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
