Narayan Malhar Joshi (5 June 1879 – 30 May 1955), the father of the ‘Trade Union Movement’ in India. He replaced the ‘All India Trade Union Congress’ in 1920 and was its secretary until 1929. Due to the influence of the Communists in the Congress, he left the Congress and formed a new organization called the ‘Trade Union Confederation’. He was also an elected member of the Central Legislative Assembly, Delhi. N.M Joshi continued to lead the moderate section in the All-India Trade Union Congress for a long time. He was also a member of the ‘Central Pay Commission’ in 1947 AD. Joshi also took interest in social service and established many hospitals for women and children. He also established schools for industrial training. Joshi was born on 5 June 1879 in Kolaba.
M. Muhammad Ismail (5 June 1896—5 April 1972), an Indian politician, social worker, and the founder of the Indian Union Muslim League after the partition of British India, popularly known as the “Quaid-e-Millat” (“the Leader of the Nation”) in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He was also a member (1948—50) of the Constituent Assembly (1946), the drafting body of the constitution of India. Ismail was born on 5 June 1896 in Tirunelveli, Madras Presidency.
Ramesh Krishnan, an Indian tennis coach, and former tennis player. As a junior in the late 1970s, he won men’s singles titles at Wimbledon and the French Open. Reached the quarterfinals of three Grand Slams in the 1980s and reached the finals on the Davis Cup team. Ramesh Krishnan was India’s Davis Cup captain in 2007. He is the son of Ramanathan Krishnan, who has been a famous tennis player in India. He was honored with ‘Padma Shri’ by the Government of India in 1998. Krishnan was born on 5 June 1961 in Chennai, India.
C. Sylendra Babu, Director General of Police of the Railways (GRP), Tamil Nadu, and Holding additional charge of Director, Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services. He is an Indian Police Service Officer of the 1987 batch belonging to the Tamil Nadu cadre. Babu was also the manager of the Indian national athletic team in various events including the 2002 Asian Athletics Championships – Colombo, Sri Lanka, the 2003 World Championships in Athletics – Paris, France, and the 2007 World Championships in Athletics – Osaka, Japan. Bapu was born on 5 June 1962 in Kuzhithurai, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, India.
Yogi Adityanath, an Indian politician serving as the 22nd and current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh since 19 March 2017. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Political Party. He has been the Member of Parliament from the Gorakhpur constituency, Uttar Pradesh, for five consecutive terms since 1998. He was born on 5 June 1972 in Panchur, Pauri Garhwal district, Uttar Pradesh, India (present-day Uttarakhand, India).

Madhavrao Sadashivrao Golwalkar (19 February 1906 – 5 June 1973), the second chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), known for his intellectual commentary on Indian politics and religion. Golwalkar is contemplated as one of the most influential and prominent figures among Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He died on 5 June 1973 at the age of 67 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India.
Master Madan (28 December 1927 – 5 June 1942), a talented ghazal and song singer from pre-independence India. He was an artist who rose to fame as a teenager in the 1930s and died in the 1940s at the age of just 15. It is believed that Master Madan was paid an extremely high amount for singing in Akashvani and in the courts of many princely states. He died on 5 June 1942 in Delhi.
Lonappan Nambadan (13 November 1935 – 5 June 2013), an Indian politician from Kerala. He was a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly for six terms from 1977 – 2001. He represented the Mukundapuram constituency of Kerala and was a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) political party. He died on 5 June 2013 at the age of 77 in Kochi, India.
