Today. he is regarded as one of the most prominent protagonists of modernity in Maithili. He was born on 30 June 1911, Satlakha Village, Madhubani District, Bihar.

Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra Rao FRS, popularly known as C. N. R. Rao, an Indian chemist who has mainly worked in solid-state and structural chemistry. He has honorary doctorates from 60 universities around the world and has authored around 1,600 research publications and 51 books. He was born on 30 June 1934, Bangalore, British India.

Saeed Akhtar Mirza, an Indian screenwriter, and director in Hindi films and television. He is the maker of notable parallel films such as Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho! (1984), Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyoon Aata Hai (1980), Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro (1989), and Naseem (1995), which won two National Film Awards in 1996. He was honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at ICA – International Cultural Artifact Film Festival in 2020. He was born on 30 June 1943 in Bombay, British India.

30 June in Indian history is observed as the death anniversary of the following personalities:

Maharaja Gulab Singh (17 October 1792 – 30 June 1857) the founder of the Dogra dynasty and the first Maharaja of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, the second-largest princely state under the British Raj, which was created after the defeat of the Sikh Empire in the First Anglo-Sikh War. He died on 30 June 1857, in Srinagar, India.

Dadabhai Naoroji, (4 September 1825 – 30 June 1917) also known as the “Grand Old Man of India” and “Unofficial Ambassador of India” was an Indian political leader, merchant, scholar and writer who was a Liberal Party Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom House of Commons between 1892 and 1895 and the first Asian to be a British MP other than the Anglo-Indian MP David Ochterlony Dyce Sombre, who was disenfranchised for corruption after nine months in office. Naoroji is renowned for his work in the Indian National Congress, of which he was one of the founding members and thrice the elected president in – 1886, 1893, 1906 Indian nationalist and critic of British economic policy in India. He died on 30 June 1917 in Bombay, British India.

Balijepalli Lakshmikantha Kavi (23 December 1881 – 30 June 1953), an actor, poet, screenwriter, dramatist and freedom fighter. He is remembered for the masterpiece Harischandra written in 1924, and for his works in Telugu cinema. He died on 30 June 1953 in Andhra Pradesh, India.

Sahib Singh Verma (15 March 1943 – 30 June 2007), an Indian politician and former senior vice-president of BJP. He served as Chief Minister of Delhi and was a member of the 13th Lok Sabha, Parliament of India. He also served as the Union Labour Minister of India. He died on 30 June 2007 in Rajasthan, India.
