Sister Nivedita (28 October 1867 – 11 October 1911), is considered to be one of the prolific speakers for the establishment of the Indian National Congress in 1885 and the promotion of new ideas of national consciousness, unity, renaissance, and national independence, which culminated in India’s independence in 1947. She was born on 28 October 1867, in Danganen, Ireland.

Atul Prasad Sen (28 October 1871 – 26 August 1934), a famous jurist, educationist, writer, and famous Bengali poet and musician. He was counted among the top lawyers of the country. He was the editor of ‘Awadh Weekly Notes’ and the Bengali monthly ‘Uttara’. The patriotic and devotional songs composed by him have a place of great respect in the field of Bengali music. Urjit Patel, the 24th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He assumed this post after the completion of the term of 23rd Governor Raghuram Rajan. Raghuram Rajan was relieved on 4 September 2016. After him, Urjit Patel took charge from 5 September 2016. Earlier, Urjit was the Deputy Governor of RBI. He was appointed Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank on 11 January 2013 and was extended in January 2016. Urjit Patel is the owner of a focused personality with independent thoughts. He was born on 28 October 1963 in Gujarat, India.

Death Anniversary

28 October in Indian history is observed as the death anniversary of the following personalities:

Shrilal Shukla (31 December 1925 – 28 October 2011), considered a literary figure famous for his purposeful satirical writing in contemporary fiction of the Lucknow district. He passed his graduation from Allahabad University in 1947. Started the job with the state civil service in 1949. Retired from the Indian Administrative Service in 1983. His methodical writing begins in 1954 and with this, a glorious chapter of Hindi prose begins to take shape. He died on 28 October 2011 in Lucknow, UP.

Rajendra Yadav (28 August 1929 – 28 October 2013), the editor and popular novelist of Hans, a well-known magazine of Hindi literature. He did his MA from Agra University in 1951 in (Hindi) and passed with first division, the first position. In the era when Hindi literary magazines were falling prey to premature death, the continuous publication of Hans became possible only because of Rajendra Yadav. He had a similar grasp of all genres of literature including novels, stories, poetry, and criticism. He died on 28 October 2013 in New Delhi, India.
