Nalini Bala Devi (23 March 1898 – 24 December 1977), a noted Indian writer and poet of Assamese literature. In 1957, She was honored with Padma Shri by the Government of India. In 1968, she was awarded Sahitya Akademi Award. She is the first woman Assamese poet to be awarded Padma Shri and the first lady to the chair of the Assam Sahitya Sabha. She was born on 23 March 1898 in Guwahati, Assam, British India.

Bhagat Singh, an Indian socialist revolutionary whose two acts of dramatic violence against the British in India and execution at age 23 made him a folk hero of the Indian independence movement. He was executed on 23 March 1931.
Sukhdev Thapar (15 May 1907 – 23 March 1931), an Indian revolutionary. A senior member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association, he participated in several actions alongside Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru and was hanged by the British authorities on 23 March 1931 at the age of 23.
Shivaram Hari Rajguru (24 August 1908 – 23 March 1931), an Indian revolutionary. He also fought for the independence of India and on 23 March 1931, he was hanged by the British government along with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev Thapar.
Udham Singh Kular (4 August 1928 – 23 March 2000), an Indian hockey player. He had played 1952 Summer Olympics Helsinki, 1956 Summer Olympics Melbourne, 1960 Summer Olympics Rome and 1964 Summer Olympics Tokyo as a member of the Indian Hockey team and won three gold and a silver medal (set an Olympic record for a player in the Olympic Field Hockey competition). He was also awarded the Arjuna Award by the Indian Government. He is known to be one of the finest Hockey players India has ever produced. He died on 23 March 2000 in Jalandhar, Punjab, India
