Mangal Pandey (19 July 1827 – 8 April 1857), an Indian soldier who played a key part in the events immediately preceding the outbreak of the Indian rebellion of 1857. He was a sepoy (infantryman) in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry (BNI) regiment of the British East India Company. In 1984, the Indian government issued a postage stamp to remember him. His life and actions have also been portrayed in several cinematic productions. He was born on 19 July 1827.
Balai Chand Mukhopadhyay (19 July 1899 – 9 February 1979) was an Indian Bengali-language novelist, short story writer, playwright, poet, and physician who wrote under the pen name of Banaphul. He was a recipient of the civilian honor of the Padma Bhushan. He was born on 19 July 1899.
Nalapat Balamani Amma (19 July 1909 – 29 September 2004), an Indian poet who wrote in Malayalam. She was a recipient of many awards and honors, including the Padma Bhushan, Saraswati Samman, Sahitya Akademi Award, and Ezhuthachan Award. She was born on 19 July 1909.

Pratap Singh Rao Gaekwad (29 June 1908 – 19 July 1968), belonging to the Gaekwad dynasty of the Marathas, was the last ruling Maharaja of Baroda. He founded the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 1949, as per the wishes of his grandfather. He died on 19 July 1968.
