14 September in Indian history is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the following personalities:
Gopaldas Parmanand Sippy (14 September 1915 – 25 December 2007), an Indian Hindi film producer and director born in Hyderabad, Sindh. He is known for producing many popular Bollywood blockbusters such as Sita Aur Geeta (1972), Shaan (1980), Sagar (1985), Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, and his Amar Kriti (with his son Ramesh Sippy) Sholay. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Mumbai International Film Festival in 2000. Sippy was also the President of the Film and TV Producers Guild of India in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Sippy’s father’s name was Parmanand Sipahimalani and the family are Sindhi Hindus. The family was based in Karachi until 1947 when the partition of India took place and Pakistan was created. The entire province of Sindh became part of Pakistan. Most of the Hindus of Sindh were compelled to abandon their homes, lands, and properties to go as refugees to India. This was the fate of the Sipahimalani family, whose wealth made them the target of particular spite and attack. Sippy’s second son, Ramesh Sippy, is a successful filmmaker, most famous for the all-time blockbuster hit Sholay (1975) and the hugely successful TV serial Buniyaad which was telecast in the 1980s. His other son Vijay was also active in the film industry, but success largely eluded him. He was Born on 14 September 1915 in Mumbai.
Ram Boolchand Jethmalani (14 September 1923 – 8 September 2019), was an Indian lawyer and politician. He served as India’s Union Minister of law and Justice, as chairman of the Indian Bar Council, and as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association. He was noted in the Indian legal fraternity for his forte in criminal law and high-profile civil cases. Throughout his political career, Jethmalani worked for improving the relations between India and Pakistan, owing to his experiences as a refugee post-partition. He was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha twice, on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tickets, from the Mumbai northwest constituency. He also served as the union minister of urban development in the first Atal Bihari Vajpayee ministry, against whom he later contested the election in the 2004 Indian general elections from the Lucknow constituency. He later returned to BJP in 2010 and was elected to the Rajya Sabha on its ticket. He authored books such as Big Egos, Small Men; Conscience of a Maverick; and Maverick: Unchanged, Unrepentant; among others. He also co-authored legal scholarly books on different fields of law. He was Born on 14 September 1923 in Mumbai.
Robin Singh is a former Indian cricketer who played in ODI cricket as well as Test cricket matches for the Indian cricket team. However, he was born on 14 September 1963 in Prince Town, Trinidad and Tobago instead of India. He played only 1 Test match and 136 ODI matches for the Indian cricket team from 1989 to 2001. In which he played the role of an all-rounder. After this, he also made a career in cricket as a coaching coach and was the captain of the Mumbai Indians franchise in the 2010 IPL of the Indian Premier League. While simultaneously serving as the coach of the Barbados Trident in the Caribbean Premier League until 2013. Apart from all this, he also coached for Deccan Chargers in IPL. He has always been fit and good in his cricket career. He was Born on 14 September 1963.

Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay (23 July 1898 – 14 September 1971), a famous Bengali writer. He was awarded the ‘Jnanpith Award’ in 1966 for his famous novel ‘Ganadevata’. Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay was awarded the ‘Padma Bhushan’ in 1969 by the Government of India in the field of literature and education. He was from West Bengal. Satyajit Ray also made a film on Tarashankar’s story ‘Jalsaghar’. The Jnanpith Award was received by Sahitya Akademi in 1956 for ‘Arogya Niketan’ and in 1967 for ‘Ganadevata’. His specialty was that he continued to portray regional life in a comprehensive manner. He also got good success in this work. This was probably the biggest reason for his popularity. She died on 14 September 1971.
