Ilachandra Joshi (13 December 1903 – 1982), considered the originator of psychological novels in Hindi. Like most litterateurs, Joshi Ji started his literary journey with the creation of poetry. The mountain life, especially the mountain peaks of Almora and its surroundings covered with vegetation, and the waterfalls and valleys of the Himalayas, lakes, and rivers kept his poetic sensibility always awake. He was born on 13 December 1903.
Lakshmi Chand Jain (13 December 1925 – 14 November 2010), an Indian economist. Both his parents were active freedom fighters, which had an impact on him as well. In the last days of 1947, he met Kamala Devi Chattopadhyay in a camp. After this, in 1948, Jain established an ‘Indian Co-operative Union’ with Kamala Devi. In 1968, he also set up a consulting firm, which helped in government and non-government work on the advice of farmers and artisans. In this way, Lakshmi Chand Jain played the role of a bridge between farmers, artisans, and women’s groups, government committees, and boards which benefited him. He was born on 13 December 1925.

Death Anniversary

Smita Patil (17 October 1955 – 13 December 1986), a well-known actress in Hindi films. He made a special mark in parallel cinema as well as a commercial cinema with his strong acting. Adorned with excellent acting, his films ‘Bhumika’, ‘Manthan’, ‘Chakra’, ‘Shakti’, ‘Nishant’ and ‘Namak Halal’ still leave their indelible mark on the hearts of the audience. Apart from being an active feminist in the Indian context, Smita Patil was also a member of the Women’s Center in Mumbai. She was fully committed to the cause of women. He was also honored with the ‘National Film Award’ and ‘Padma Shri’ twice for his invaluable contribution to Indian cinema. Apart from Hindi films, Smita Patil also made her mark in Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam films. She died on 13 December 1986.
